Eco.Kid Organics is an Australian company creating organic products designed especially for kids. All of their products are made from certified organic, sulfate free and biodegradable ingredients with no artificial coloring or preservatives. I am always looking out for these types of products to use on my boys and when I got offered the chance to review these, I was thrilled.
More about Eco.Kid Organics from their website:
eco.kid pure raw ingredients have been certified natural and organic by internationally recognised independent providers… in addition we select cruelty free certified, wild harvested, totally natural and/or readily bio-degradable ingredients.
eco.kid is a brand dedicated to providing the highest quality, naturally derived, personal care products (skin & hair) for children from 3 to 12 years old. The fact that eco.kid hair products help to create an unattractive environment for head lice is only one of the many benefits of the range.
Eco.Kid Organics was generous enough to send me three products to try. Now, in interest of “full disclosure,” they sent me items that I would not have chosen for myself. I’ll explain why in a moment. But it was a bit harder for me to give them a proper review.
Hydrate Daily Conditioner.
“Hydrate conditioning enhances curl, combats frizz and boosts shine on curly, dehydrated or wavy hair. Helps repair and re-moisturize damaged hair infusing it anew with healthy movement, silkiness and shine.”
I did not try using Hydrate. I have 3 boys with very short hair. No frizz, no curls, no waves. This is a product that I did not need and would not buy. I plan on giving it to my brother to use on his girls. I don’t have any opinion on this particular product.
“It is naturally derived and deep moisturising. It adds strength and vitality to young hair. It contains no artificial preservative, colouring or fragrance, is proudly readily bio-degradable and waterway friendly.”
We did use Nourish. Now, I have never used a conditioning product on any of my boys. They simply don’t need it yet. We keep their hair very short. Additionally, they don’t go to school so they have never been exposed to head lice. So I can’t tell you if that part of their claim is true. But I used the Nourish on all three. I felt that it was a little difficult to rinse out. But like I said, I’ve never used a conditioner, so maybe it was just me not being used to the conditioner feel. Maybe I used too much? I didn’t feel that I got it rinsed out well, and with three little boys that don’t like water dumped on their heads, I had to stop at one point.
Sitting in the chair after their bath, I did not find that I loved the smell of the conditioner either. But again, maybe it’s just me. I am used to sticky sweet, chemical raspberry smells that you get from retail soaps. So I think my nose just needs to get used to a natural smell.
It wasn’t bad, just different.
The next morning, the family went to the Wild Animal Park. Without mentioning using a new conditioner, my mom complimented about how beautiful Eddie’s hair looked! He has very fine, flyaway hair and after using Nourish it laid nicely and was very shiny. Dennis’ hair is naturally heavy and it was just extra soft the next day.
“Unique Australian indigenous oils combined with wild harvested organically certified Andiroba Oil and our pure carrier oil blend to hydrate and nourish—a soothing elixer—helps to protect from annoying insects while infusing skin with visible radiance.”
Now this product, I think I really like and will be able to put to good use! We all know how awful “OFF” smells, not to mention how terrible it must be for the environment…what with all the chemicals. I tried this Bug-a-Bug spray one evening while we were out playing at dusk. Here in SoCal, we don’t currently have a lot of pesky bugs. But with West Nile Virus, you can never be too careful. I liked that this bug repellent didn’t smell terrible. I loved that it is safe for young children. I will be keeping this in my arsenal, especially as camping season approaches.
So, in conclusion, I love the idea of eco.kid organics. I love that their products are organic, plant based, natural. Just the thing that we need for our children today. I look forward to trying more of their products, I think I could get more use out of some body wash or shampoo. Go check them out!

Those products sounds great. I love that they are natural and cruelty free. And we could totally use that Hydrate on my kids’ out of control curls!
