Introducing My New Intended Parents

I am so happy to get to introduce you to the family that has chosen me to be their surrogate.  Their names are Shannon and Mike.  Out of everyone they could have chosen, they picked me and I feel so lucky.

My new IP’s live in Northern California.  They have been together since college and have one beautiful daughter. Really, she is gorgeous.  They will be beating the boys off with a stick!

Their daughter was born 3 1/2 years ago.  My IM’s second pregnancy resulted in a heart wrenching stillbirth at 38 weeks.  I could not ever image that heartbreak!  Due to complications during that delivery she was forced to undergo a hysterectomy thus dashing any hopes of growing their family the “traditional” way.

My IP’s turned to surrogacy.  The doctors only removed Shannon’s uterus, not her ovaries.  So surrogacy is the only way to have another biological child.  They have actually tried 3 previous IVF cycles with 2 other surrogates.  All with no success.

Their first surrogate was able to become pregnant twice but unfortunately the embryo’s failed to survive past the first few weeks.

Their second surrogate never made it to transfer because her body did not respond well to the IVF meds used to ready her placenta.

So then they found me.

Surrogacy is such an amazing process.  I don’t know how I would feel being on the other end of things.  I don’t know how I would trust someone else to carry my child.  I mean, I know that I am honest and trustworthy.  But they don’t.  I feel so humbled that they have chosen me.  I can’t wait to get started.  They will be down to meet us on the 4th of July.  I hope I don’t disappoint them.
