What do you do When you are all Alone?
My husband took the three monkeys to a beach birthday party today. I have not been home alone, in oh…probably 4 years.
I have NO idea what to do with myself!!!
I’m thinking that I should clean something. It is a good opportunity to get some stuff done with no distractions. With no little people following behind messing up what I just picked up. I could get some laundry done and clean the bathrooms. The house is a mess. I really should.
I could go take a nap. I’m not really a napper. It just seems like something I should/could do while I have the opportunity.
I have a laptop bag to finish sewing. It’s all pinned and ready to just sew. I don’t have a 4 year old talk, talk, talking behind me and I could actually concentrate on what I was doing. But just before they left, my darling 4yo said “mommy, don’t sew your bag without me, I want to watch.” *sigh* Should I break his heart? I’m thinking not.
We have Dish Network satellite TV. They suck. I thought this might be a great opportunity to watch some girly movie that I couldn’t watch with the boys home. But there are like 4 movies on pay-per-view right now and they are all LAME. I’ve only even heard of 2 of them. I hate Dish Network. I miss Cox. But I digress…
I could take my mom’s car (they are away for the weekend and I have her keys) into town. Maybe go to Blockbuster and rent a movie. But I really shouldn’t take her car anywhere. I guess I could call her and ask to borrow it. I thought about going to the store and getting some groceries, too. Another fun thing to do while I am alone. I really would love to go to Costco by myself. But that’s about 30 mins away and I wouldn’t want to go that far in my mom’s car…especially if I “borrow” it.
So, here I sit. Trying to decide how to best spend my short lived freedom. I’ll probably run out of time before I decide.
**UPDATE**
Just spent the last 2 hours laughing and crying through the movie Mamma Mia. LOL! Boy, my hormones are out of whack…or I’m just really estrogen starved. Either way…Loved the movie. Now I’m going to clean up in the living room. Boys are still away….

Oh how I understand your dilemma but when my 2 monkeys are away (which is almost never) I crank the radio and go to town on my house! I have to take the opportunity when I can and my hands aren’t outnumbered by their sticky little ones. It feels good working up a sweat while beautifying the house with no one saying, “Mama would ya stop singing!” But that’s me.
