We eat a LOT of cereal. The boys love it and it’s so easy for me to just set it out on the table and let them have at it. So when My Blog Spark offered me a chance to review the New Honey Kix cereal, I accepted.
Kix is a trusted name in cereal. Everyone knows their slogan:
“Kid Tested, Mother Approved.”
Honestly, my kids don’t really like the original Kix. So I was curious to see how they would take to the new honey version.
They liked it! YAY!
Honey Kix is a good source of fiber, calcium and vitamin D, contains 16 grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams recommended daily) and has no artificial flavors or preservatives. So it is a good choice for a nutritious and easy breakfast for your busy family. I was really glad that my boys liked it.
Honey Kix is now available in your local grocery store and I would recommend giving it a try! It also makes a great “on the go” snack to take along in your bag.
General Mills and My Blog Spark is offering one of my lucky readers the chance to WIN a Honey Kix Prize Pack for themselves! Woot!
This prize pack includes everything pictured above.
- Coupon for a FREE box of Honey Kix
- Honey Jar
- Cereal Bowl
- “On the Go” cereal and milk container (Mr. A. LOVES this and wants to take it to school)
- Big plastic container to keep your cereal fresh and easy to pour (this is the BOMB!)

This giveaway will end on Wednesday August 12, 2009 at 10pm Pacific Time. I will notify the winner here and by email, they will have 72 hours to reply or prize is forfeit. Thanks for entering and GOOD LUCK!

Oh I am the ultimate in lazy. I put the cereal in the bowls the night before, put the bowls along with a small creamer of milk in the fridge, and when the kids get up in the AM most of the time the get out their breakfast themselves while Mom stares blearily out from the couch.
My two oldest daughters usually make it easy for me by eating breakfast at school. My youngest daughter will be starting kindergarten in a couple weeks. I am hoping she is going to be okay getting up early in the morning and eating breakfast. I am going to try the breakfast bars for her since she likes them and they are easy!

Hi there! I’m not really in for the contest. Though I wish the others good luck though.
And I’d definitely envy whoever wins. I love cereals! I think I have never refused to eating any cereal that was offered to us by my mom. It’s delicious and healthy!
I get everything ready the night before.

I get all I can ready in the night before. Lunches are made, backpacks are ready and by the front door, ect.
To simplify my mornings, I write a list for everything that needs to be done, and then I start with the most important. It helps me concentrate on one thing at a time and not feel so flustered!
I have four kids, and am extremely organized. The best thing to do is prep the night before for the day ahead! Tidy up the house before bedtime, make lunches, pack backpacks, lay out clothes. The mornings will be wonderful!

My mornings are made hardest by my 10 yr old. She never wants to get up. We shortened her bedtim e by a 1/2 hour the next day everytime she wouldn’t get up . After going to bed one time earlier than her 5 yr old brother, she got up easily the rest of the school year.
We simplify our morning routine by homeschooling our three kids. Our mornings are relaxed and calm, and we enjoy a leisurely breakfast together as a family. I have also learned to make my husband’s lunch the evening before, so there isn’t that something that needs to get down in the morning.

I get up an hour or two before the kids to get a head start on them and to have some peace!
I simplify my routine by picking out my outfit the night before!
we plan outfits
I do most everything the night before
I get up and make breakfast while everyone gets ready. Then we all eat together and discuss the day’s agenda. This helps us to remember what we need for the day and to make sure everyone is on the same page.
My daughter’s not in school yet, but when we have to go some place the next morning, I get her clothes ready and give her a bath the night before so I only have to get me ready. I try to keep bananas, blueberries, raisins, etc. and organic yogurt on hand in case she has to have a quick meal before we rush out the door. If we are REALLY strapped for time I give her a bowl of dry cereal and a sippy cup full of milk–hey, at least her cereal doesn’t get soggy that way!

A lot of times we eat breakfast on the go–it saves having to cook each morning. Also, we plan ahead my picking out clothes and making lunches the night before–all we have to is grab it and go.

I simplify my morning routine by getting as much ready the night before as possible!!
my kids eat breakfast at day care but in general, I never forget to pick their clothes out the night before. MY 6 yr old is very picky and can make your mornings miserable if DH is unable to find something she wants.

I eat microwave breakfasts in the morning to make up time.
Give baths at night, then they only have to wash up quickly, brush teeth. While they’re getting themselves dressed, you fix breakfast. The routine will get easier each morning.
I’m a stay-at-home mom who homeschools. So, everything always goes easy.
We’re actually pretty good in the mornings. We prep everything–and I mean everything–the night before. Clothes, socks, underwear, lunches, backpacks, what’s-for-breakfast, etc. There are NO changes allowed in the AM, and the TV goes on when everything necessary is finished. Works pretty well!

bathe the night before– have the clothes laid out– have the coffee ready to go
We always pick out Gracie’s clothes the night before. This saves us a ton of headaches the next morning.
Would LOVE to win this! The only way we get through mornings is to make it a two parent job—-we prep as much as possible the night before and then work together to get the kids fed, dressed, teeth brushed and hair combed, while we take turns getting ready.
Do all that you can the night before. get the homwork all finsidhed and the back packs ready and by the door so they’re not looking for them in the morning.
Get in a routine that works and stick to it!
Always have everything you need already setting out for the next day. It makes getting ready and fixing breakfast a whole lot easier.
So far my mornings have been OK but my daughter is only 14 months old so how complicated can they be? I have found that by giving her Go-gurts in the little plastic tubes (cut in half to cut the mess in half just in case) has left me with being able to walk away instead of spoon feeding her yogurt. That saves me a little time at least.

I simplify my morning routine by setting the timer on the coffeepot the night before to brew a few minutes before I get up. It’s so much easier when you know you have a fresh hot cup of coffee waiting for you!
Plan everything the night before. Thanks for the chance. mogrill@comcast.net
Get everything ready the night before.
Really, what I do in the morning to simplify my routine is really what I do in the evening. We set out our clothes, shoes, backpack and jacket. Having everything handy makes getting out the door so much easier because it’s all in one place and you’re less likely to forget to put important papers in the backpack, etc.
I prep lunches, backpacks, etc the night before. In the morning, I make sure that we’re up early enough that we don’t have to rush.

I cut up fresh fruit the night before so in the mornings I can throw it in the blender with milk for a quick on-the-go smoothie, so I don’t spend an incredible amount of time on breakfast – and its healthy! Thanks for the giveaway!
Prepare the night before! lol Lay out clothes, make sure backpacks & sh0es are ready by the door. And fill out all paperwork type items as soon as you get them.
good question, this will be my first year, son starting kindergarden
So I am looking for some good ideas!!

eat a breakfast that requires no prep, fruit!
my best advice for morning is to get as much as possible done the night before – mostly pack lunch – lay out clothes – pack up backpack! It helps big time!

Well, for kindergarten, I used to make sure I went thru my son’s backpack every day after dinner to make sure there wasn’t anything that needed my attention. Then I’d have my son put his backpack and, when needed, coat, hat and gloves near the front door. Then, he’d set the table for breakfast with my help and I’d set out all the non-perishables. Then, we’d go upstairs and set out his clothes for the next day. In other words, we avoided last-minute emergencies, he made choices while he wasn’t cranky, and we eliminated all the “I can’t find it” issues.
I make sure I have everything ready the night before! It makes everything so much eaiser in the mornings for me.

I have my coffee set so it is ready when I wake up- and we prep as much ahead of time as possible, including packing backpacks and getting the components for the lunches together.

Do as much preparation the night before as you can – set out clothes, socks, shoes, cereal bowls, cereal box, spoons, glass for juice, and anything else you can think of. Makes the next morning much easier having prepared the night before!

I try to get as much done the night before as possible. Then we all eat simple breakfasts during the week such as cereal, muffins, or breakfast bars. Thanks.
Make sure all homework is done and in backpack, get clothes and anything else picked out and ready the night before, decide what breakfast will be, and make sure ALL clocks that you will be looking at for time are 5-10 minutes fast if your kid can tell time….
