GIVEAWAY & REVIEW: Honey Kix (CLOSED)

honey_kixWe eat a LOT of cereal.  The boys love it and it’s so easy for me to just set it out on the table and let them have at it.  So when My Blog Spark offered me a chance to review the New Honey Kix cereal, I accepted.

Kix is a trusted name in cereal.  Everyone knows their slogan:

“Kid Tested, Mother Approved.”

Honestly, my kids don’t really like the original Kix.  So I  was curious to see how they would take to the new honey version.

They liked it!  YAY!

Honey Kix is a good source of fiber, calcium and vitamin D, contains 16 grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams recommended daily) and has no artificial flavors or preservatives.  So it is a good choice for a nutritious and easy breakfast for your busy family.  I was really glad that my boys liked it.

Honey Kix is now available in your local grocery store and I would recommend giving it a try!  It also makes a great “on the go” snack to take along in your bag.

General Mills and My Blog Spark is offering one of my lucky readers the chance to WIN a Honey Kix Prize Pack for themselves!  Woot!

honeykixThis prize pack includes everything pictured above.

  • Coupon for a FREE box of Honey Kix
  • Honey Jar
  • Cereal Bowl
  • “On the Go” cereal and milk container (Mr. A. LOVES this and wants to take it to school)
  • Big plastic container to keep your cereal fresh and easy to pour (this is the BOMB!)

Oh I am the ultimate in lazy. I put the cereal in the bowls the night before, put the bowls along with a small creamer of milk in the fridge, and when the kids get up in the AM most of the time the get out their breakfast themselves while Mom stares blearily out from the couch.

  2. Stefani says:

My two oldest daughters usually make it easy for me by eating breakfast at school. My youngest daughter will be starting kindergarten in a couple weeks. I am hoping she is going to be okay getting up early in the morning and eating breakfast. I am going to try the breakfast bars for her since she likes them and they are easy!

And I’d definitely envy whoever wins. I love cereals! I think I have never refused to eating any cereal that was offered to us by my mom. It’s delicious and healthy!

My mornings are made hardest by my 10 yr old. She never wants to get up. We shortened her bedtim e by a 1/2 hour the next day everytime she wouldn’t get up . After going to bed one time earlier than her 5 yr old brother, she got up easily the rest of the school year.

  32. Alicia Webster says:

We simplify our morning routine by homeschooling our three kids. Our mornings are relaxed and calm, and we enjoy a leisurely breakfast together as a family. I have also learned to make my husband’s lunch the evening before, so there isn’t that something that needs to get down in the morning.

I get up and make breakfast while everyone gets ready. Then we all eat together and discuss the day’s agenda. This helps us to remember what we need for the day and to make sure everyone is on the same page.

  42. renee says:

My daughter’s not in school yet, but when we have to go some place the next morning, I get her clothes ready and give her a bath the night before so I only have to get me ready. I try to keep bananas, blueberries, raisins, etc. and organic yogurt on hand in case she has to have a quick meal before we rush out the door. If we are REALLY strapped for time I give her a bowl of dry cereal and a sippy cup full of milk–hey, at least her cereal doesn’t get soggy that way!

We’re actually pretty good in the mornings. We prep everything–and I mean everything–the night before. Clothes, socks, underwear, lunches, backpacks, what’s-for-breakfast, etc. There are NO changes allowed in the AM, and the TV goes on when everything necessary is finished. Works pretty well!

We always pick out Gracie’s clothes the night before. This saves us a ton of headaches the next morning.

  69. Kimberly says:

Would LOVE to win this! The only way we get through mornings is to make it a two parent job—-we prep as much as possible the night before and then work together to get the kids fed, dressed, teeth brushed and hair combed, while we take turns getting ready.

  70. damon says:

Do all that you can the night before. get the homwork all finsidhed and the back packs ready and by the door so they’re not looking for them in the morning.

  71. dianne says:

Get in a routine that works and stick to it!

  72. angie says:

Always have everything you need already setting out for the next day. It makes getting ready and fixing breakfast a whole lot easier.

  73. So far my mornings have been OK but my daughter is only 14 months old so how complicated can they be? I have found that by giving her Go-gurts in the little plastic tubes (cut in half to cut the mess in half just in case) has left me with being able to walk away instead of spoon feeding her yogurt. That saves me a little time at least.

  119. Deborah R says:

Well, for kindergarten, I used to make sure I went thru my son’s backpack every day after dinner to make sure there wasn’t anything that needed my attention. Then I’d have my son put his backpack and, when needed, coat, hat and gloves near the front door. Then, he’d set the table for breakfast with my help and I’d set out all the non-perishables. Then, we’d go upstairs and set out his clothes for the next day. In other words, we avoided last-minute emergencies, he made choices while he wasn’t cranky, and we eliminated all the “I can’t find it” issues.
