Click Here to see the Super Secret Members Only Savings!

I’m so excited to go shopping on Friday!!  I will definitely be at Sam’s Club in Vista, CA if anyone wants to meet up for breakfast.  I’ll buy (haha).  I’m not really on the hunt for anything specific since I’ve gotten all the “big” stuff.  I am hoping that I find a deal on a Nintendo DSi or at least a deal on some games.

What are you on the hunt for?  Or are you a smart one staying home on Friday (…BOR-ing!)?

giveaway title

In order to celebrate the kick off of the holiday shopping season, I thought I would do a little giveaway to put you into the shopping spirit.  Up for grabs:  $100 Sam’s Club Gift Card!  WOOT!

Mandatory Entry

This is a 2 part entry, and both parts must be completed first.  Please leave just one comment though with both parts so I don’t get confused.

  1. Visit the Holiday Helper section of the Sam’s Club Holiday microsite.  There you will find several informational videos to help with the holidays.  Pick any video to watch and then LEAVE A COMMENT on the video post.  Just tell me which video it was so we can check it out.
  2. TWEET.  What would a live giveaway be without a tweet involved?

Kick off the shopping season with a $100 @samsclub gift card!  LIVE giveaway happening now! #samsholidays http://bit.ly/5UHgmp

After you complete BOTH mandatory entries (leave just one comment including both entries) you may chat among yourselves.  Please keep on topic of Sam’s Club, the Sam’s Club Holiday Blitz, black Friday shopping, holidays in general, etc.  Comments must be real sentences and not repetitive (no – “pick me,” “pick me,” over and over again etc.).

Comment number 500 WINS!

Don’t worry if your comment goes into moderation.  I will be checking in and approving.  They stay in the que in the order received, so even if it goes to moderation, you will not lose your place.

Thanks for spreading the word!

They have the “Earth collection” pieces are made from sources committed to protecting the environment. I think that’s awesome and the jewelry pieces look great!

People are so rude when there is a bargain involved. I have not been to a black Friday sale in years! I am usually out of town. This year, we are home and I am debating on going.

I WENT TO ONLY ONE BLACK FRIDAY SALE 3 YEARS AGO- AT SIRCUIT CITY AND OMG IT WAS HORRIBLE. NEVER AGAIN. PEOPLE ARE CRAZY!!!

14 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 9:15 am

I was going to go shopping on black friday this year but since I’m 31 weeks pregnant with twins and have to limit my time on my feet plans had to change.

15 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 9:15 am

The one item I really want to buy, but cannot afford at the moment is at Sams, this would really help out!

16 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:16 am

I’ve never been shopping on Black Friday and have no interest in battling the crowds! But the deals sound awesome! One year we sent my hubby out to get a great price on a TV! It was awesome!

17 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:17 am

Wow Melissa congrats! Twins!

18 Sara Broers November 25, 2009 at 9:17 am

The only place I will go on Black Friday is Home Depot. They buy their poinsettia’s from a local nursery and sell them for $1 that day.

20 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:18 am

Wow Nancy that sounds like a great deal on pointsettas.

21 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 9:18 am

At that price, they are all over my house. LOL

22 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:19 am

They’re so pretty…I have a black thumb, lol, but at that price I could get a bunch and enjoy them for a while!

23 CINDY November 25, 2009 at 9:20 am

CONGRATS MELISSA- WITH THE CROWDS- ITS BETTER YOU DON’T GO OUT WITH ALL THEM CRAZY PEOPLE OUT THERE, LAST YEAR SOMEONE GOT TRAMPLED IN WALMART.

24 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 9:21 am

Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving?

25 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:33 am

I’m looking for a play kitchen for my DD, I think there may be a great Black Friday deal on one somewhere but I don’t want to deal with the rude people!

26 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:34 am

I’m not ready for Thanksgiving…today we will be shopping for the food and I’m thinking it’ll be so crowded! Ughh!

27 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:35 am

I had planned to shop for Thanksgiving earlier but didn’t make it…so today I’ll have to deal with the crowds!

28 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:36 am

My son’s report card is supposed to come today…what a strange day for it to come on…glad his is usually very good! LOL!

29 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 9:36 am

I’m hoping that with my directions my husband manages to make the turkey without burning it.

30 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 9:38 am

LOL Melissa! Mine would either burn it or undercook it! do you know the genders of your babies?

31 Andrea H November 25, 2009 at 9:38 am

And yes we know that both babies are girls.

41 Arlene F November 25, 2009 at 9:44 am

I will be spending my BLACK FRIDAY at Sam’s. Will also shop for my 50th Birthday gift while I am there! :D @madly59 ONLYJOY1959@yahoo.com

63 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:07 am

That’s awesome, Sky! If I wasn’t shopping with my mom I’d do the same thing. Tune out the crazies and just get it done. :)

65 Sky November 25, 2009 at 10:05 am

73 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:12 am

78 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 10:14 am

I didn’t know Sam’s Club was even around in 1983.

79 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 10:15 am

I’m sure that they are doing all that domestic stuff that I should be doing. My house is a mess and my dad is coming over for thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.

80 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:15 am

82 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:18 am

I knew Sams has been around for a long time, but got a good laugh that it had been that long that they had been active members..obviously they love sams club too!

83 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:20 am

I didn’t know it had been around that long either. We only have 2 stores in San Diego.

84 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:19 am

Today I will take my DD to gymnastics then shop for all our food for tomorrow. I’ll be doing the whole Thanksgiving meal for and a few friends. My fam is far away and my ILs are lets just say crappy, but a mile away.

85 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:19 am

I’m trying to figure out what I’ll do for dessert…tired of pumpkin pie.

86 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:21 am
87 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:20 am

I hope I don’t forget anything I’ll need for tomorrow. Yesterday I went and got more pretty baking dishes. I love Fiesta and let my toddler DD choose the colors of the baking pans.

88 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:20 am

500 is really not bad…if alot of people help get there LOL a few weeks ago I did one like this bit it was for the 10,000th comment…it took us only 2 days…crazy i know..i spent WAY to much time on the computer commenting. And it was whoever had the most comments was who won. It was for a $100 sams club card too

89 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:22 am

Yeah, that was Kim’s giveaway at What’s That Smell. I was surprised it hit 10K so fast!

90 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:21 am

mommy23monkeys:

not sure how many Sams Club we have around here but a few, i remember always going to the same one..still go there. Love it!

91 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:22 am

That’s nice. Mine is 45 mins away.

93 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:22 am

94 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:23 am

Ooh the pumpkin cheesecake bars sound awesome! Thanks for the recipe, I’m gonna try it!

95 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:24 am

This is my first time making it. But it looks SO good. I get the Betty Crocker email. I love her.

96 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:23 am

my nearest Sams is 2 1/2 hours away, but well worth the drive to get their stuff. We are that way every other weekend anyway so its not a big deal, other than when i want something bow LOL

97 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 10:24 am

Did that Sam’s you went to have the Giradelli chocolate or the chocolate pie? Cheesecake was good, but I wanted to try all three:)

98 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:25 am

The day I went they weren’t sampling the chocolate dream pie. I was bummed. And they did the Giradelli thing on another day, too. I missed them both.

99 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:26 am

oops meant NOW…he he

sams club also had a yummy apple glazed pork when we went to.. it was good!

100 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

I bought one! I don’t even like pork. lol But I’m making it for dinner tonight it was so good.

101 Andrea H November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

102 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:28 am

103 Tara November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

104 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:28 am

mommy23monkeys:

ya me too..I posted over 3000 comments we had fun talking and meeting alot of new people though. Sams club is awesome for giving aways all these giftcards. I know i am thankful for that!

105 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:29 am

They have been really good to us. I am liking the giveaways, too. I have 2 (or 3?) other giveaways open for Sam’s cards. They end on the 30th

106 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:28 am

LOL Melissa. Yeah, my MIL would do Thanksgiving every year, the only holiday all year we see them even though they live 2 miles from us…then when my DD was 3 mos old, she said 3 days before Thanksgiving she wasn’t doing it. So I had to figure it out, shop like crazy, and make my very first turkey and all the trimmings. I was so upset with her but now I’m happy we don’t have to go there for Thanksgiving. Last year she invited us because her other son was coming from out of town… and served us all raw turkey. lovely.

107 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 10:28 am

Toys R Us should be mobbed…have fun!

108 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:30 am

I’m looking for a play kitchen for my DD but I don’t wanna shop on Black friday! LOL!

109 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:31 am

I have not seen sales on those yet.

110 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:30 am

love your blog design, lots of fun…Glad I found it…followed a Sams club post on twitter :)
Now I am a follower…I like what I see, love to find fun new blogs!

111 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:31 am

Aw, YAY. Thanks!:)

112 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:32 am

If I had a lot of shopping for toys to do I’d probably go to TRU. My DS is at the age where he is just about too old for the toys at TRU, I don’t know what to get him. He bought his own laptop a few months ago…??? My DD loves toys so we’ll shop for her, just not on BF! LOL!

113 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:32 am

Black friday at TRU will be crazy! Does Sam’s have toy deals for BF? I would rather go there!

114 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:34 am

They have leaked a few, but mostly what I know is what’s in the pamphlet (linked above in the post).

115 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:34 am

I did all my BF shopping at Kohl’s last year. Great deals on toys.

116 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 10:34 am

If I shop on Friday, it will be from my computer.

117 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:36 am

Do you have an e-mail sign up for newsletters etc. Or a follower misc program. I can’t see them.

just added you on my blogroll and posted your button :)

I will definately look onto the other Sams club giveaways, thanks for the info!

118 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:39 am

Thanks!
If you click on the RSS button (to the right) you have the option to get updates delivered via RSS or Email. I’ve thought about doing an official “newsletter” but haven’t set it up yet.

119 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 10:36 am

I am amazed how many stores are now open on Thanksgiving day.

120 Tara November 25, 2009 at 10:37 am

I love to shop the days right after Christmas – the deals are amazing!!! Also Target just had a good clearance on toys not too long ago, when they were switching out the old toys for the new hot toys…

121 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:40 am

I know! But I never know what to shop for.

122 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:37 am

play kitchen’s …I saw a few did you check the back friday ads? Sams Club has a super cute one too! http://www.blackfriday.com
i think is the site

123 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 10:39 am

It just irks me that she picked the one year that I can’t easily make a full dinner to decide that she wasn’t going to cook.
Of course she did say that she would buy all the food if I wanted to go to her house and cook dinner for everyone. Sometimes I wonder what she is thinking.

124 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:40 am

LOL That does suck.

125 Tara November 25, 2009 at 10:41 am

If I see a deal that is 75% – 90% off I have a hard time, very hard time passing it up – even if I don’t need it!!! LOL

126 Christy November 25, 2009 at 10:42 am

Why does the phone always ring when I’m trying to play in a live giveaway? And when are people going to get that I have 5 kids and there isn’t a snowballs chance in h*** that I would take them Black Friday shopping!?

127 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:43 am

LOL! I would never take the kids shopping either. I have a babysitter all lined up!

128 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:42 am

okay..added on google reader and facebook too:)

wow,I am surprised how slow this is going LOL Kims getting to 500 was nothing! Funny how that works.

thinking of appetizers and what sounds good…

I just think everyone is busy. I really should be cleaning and getting laundry going instead of chatting with ya’ll. lol I always pick bad days for live giveaways. LOL

130 Christy November 25, 2009 at 10:43 am

Though the deals on laptops at Sams and Walmart are sure tempting!

131 Shawn C. November 25, 2009 at 10:44 am

LOL! That’s what I thought about my MIL when she sprung it on me that she wouldn’t be doing Thanksgiving the year I just had my daughter, had a very difficult C section and I was still recovering. I went out and bought an exersaucer for my 3 month old and did it all myself. I think your situation is much more difficult, though. But definitely something my MIL would do, too. My MIL is such a trouble maker, and very passive agressive…LOL!

132 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 10:45 am

speaking of Christmas…

one thing my daughter really wanted I ordered online and it came in the mail yesterday…well the day before while blogging I discovered it just had a recall issued due to the pain chemicals…oh I hate that..so what do you tell a 5 year old, that Santa’s toy wasn’t safe so she can’t have it :(

133 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 10:45 am

oh no :(

134 Andrea H November 25, 2009 at 10:46 am

What is everyone’s favorite thanksgiving day dish.
Mine is my Grandma’s cloverleaf rolls. I make them all the time but they never turn out the same way hers do So Yummy

163 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:14 am

Sam’s Club was created by Sam Walton, the remarkable retailer who brought the nation Wal-Mart stores. Walton had built a chain of Arkansas five-and-dimes in the 1960s, and increased this to almost 300 stores in the South in the 1970s. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. incorporated in 1971 and was a billion-dollar operation by 1980. Wal-Mart stores were located in small towns,

164 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:15 am

In 1986 warehouse club sales accounted for less than 1 percent of total U.S. retail sales. But what Fortune magazine dubbed a “mini-industry” was nevertheless worth about $4.4 billion annually at that time, and the level of profitability was enticing. The entrenched Price Co. was still the market leader in 1986, with sales of $1.9 billion, and profits of $46 million. One key to the profitability of the warehouse concept was that goods turned over very quickly. Inventory at Sam’s Clubs turned over on average 16 to 18 times a year.

165 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:15 am

kinda some fun interesting facts of Sams club huh..

166 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:16 am

pumpkin pie :) ya…where is everyone!

167 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:16 am

Between its founding in 1983 and 1985, Sam’s Clubs opened in urban markets in the South and Southwest. The chain entered the Midwest in 1986. By 1987, Sam’s had 84 stores.

168 Tara November 25, 2009 at 11:16 am

yes, especially since it gets the comments going :) LOL

169 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 11:17 am

More than I knew about them before today.

170 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:17 am

Sam’s changed its name in 1990 from Sam’s Wholesale Clubs to simply Sam’s Clubs.

171 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:17 am

me too…figured it was better than talking to myself LOL

172 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:18 am

SAMS CLUB FACTS:The company decided to refocus on its core of small business customers, targeting specific industries such as nursing homes, restaurants, hotel/motel operators, cleaning companies, and restaurants. It stocked items such as institutional quality sheets, heavy restaurant-grade cutlery, wheel chairs, and wrist splints.

173 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 11:18 am

We went for the taste of sams over the weekend but our local sams didn’t have any good samples. no sweets at all.

174 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:19 am

In targeting particular businesses, Sam’s also moved to carry less of other items, such as housewares, that appealed more to consumers buying for themselves or their families

175 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 11:20 am

ok. You are TOO funny with all the facts. LOL

176 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:20 am

In 1994 Sam’s also began stocking some unusual items, including juke boxes and grand pianos, that were meant to appeal to upscale consumers who enjoyed the thrill of bargain hunting. Sam’s got a new president in late 1995, Joseph Hardin, Jr. Hardin resigned in 1997 to take a job at the copy shop chain Kinko’s. He was replaced by Mark Hansen. Sales remained slow at the chain, accounting for a shrinking percentage of Wal-Mart’s total. Sam’s had provided over 20 percent of Wal-Mart’s sales in the early 1990s, but by 1997 this figure had dropped to 17.5 percent. In 1998 the company embarked on a major renovation program. It remodeled 70 stores, added bakeries or other new departments to 50 more, and expanded the fresh grocery departments of 120. Some top buying personnel were replaced, and the chain announced it would build a new kind of store, a “Millennium Club,” beginning with a model in San Diego.

177 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 11:20 am

Strong consumer spending in the late 1990s and through 2000 helped Sam’s get back on its feet somewhat. Sales and earnings increased in 1999, and the company opened almost 20 new stores. By 2000, the warehouse club industry had shaken down to only three major players: Sam’s, with over 450 stores; Costco, with close to 300; and BJ’s Wholesale Club, with just over 100 units

178 Andrea H November 25, 2009 at 11:22 am

If I were to win, I’d buy the Fisher-Price Grow to Pro Golf. Even Tiger Woods had to start somewhere.

197 Christy November 25, 2009 at 11:47 am

Amazon is doing a Black Friday week and had Nintendo DS in pink for $100 yesterday! Too bad my boys are the ones wanting them!

198 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 11:48 am

I have some toys in my shopping cart hoping they go on sale.

199 Renski November 25, 2009 at 11:48 am

200 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 11:50 am

Renski – I had to google that just to see what it was. LOL

201 Tara November 25, 2009 at 11:50 am

I have been watching Amazon too this week – they have had great deals on DVD’s but it’s having to spend the rest to add up to $25 for the free shipping…

202 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 11:51 am

I need to start checking out Amazon’s daily deals. They usually have some good ones.

203 Tara November 25, 2009 at 11:51 am

Our son got a power ranger voice helmet thing a few years back….used it for a bit and it’s been sitting there ever since

204 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 11:52 am

208 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 12:01 pm

I figured after doing some house work and coming back we would be a lot closer.

209 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:02 pm

My inbox has lots of Black Friday/shopping specials. Hate to see how many there are by Friday.

210 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:05 pm

I think I’ll get up around 3:00AM. I always have a hard time figuring out what to wear. Do I go sporty? Do I dress for warm? Decisions, decisions!!

I don’t do the early morning Black Friday shopping. I can’t stand the crowds. I will probably venture out a little later in the day.

215 Tara November 25, 2009 at 12:10 pm

this will be our first black friday missed…..want to go but we are both out of work! Hoping to have money for After Christmas sales!! Have fun all!!

216 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 12:13 pm

217 Renski November 25, 2009 at 12:13 pm

224 Shannon November 25, 2009 at 12:16 pm

Who is doing black Friday? Not me!

225 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Andrea – since you love shopping, would you mind doing mine?

226 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:18 pm

Hubby insisted on checking out the Uniform & Accessories Warehouse Black Friday ad while he was home for lunch. Something tells me his Christmas list is going to include new lights and siren lol.

227 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:19 pm

My mom informed me she wasn’t even going BF shopping this year. The first year in a LONG time. Then I told her about the laptop deals and now she’s on the fence lol.

228 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:20 pm

Can’t say I have ever checked out the Uniform & Accessories Warehouse.

229 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Walmart just announced a Nintendo DS for under 100 for BF… crap! I really want to stay home, but I don’t think I can pass that up.

Like you said, I watched and commented on two videos—the jewelry one (the hubs and I have been talking about getting new wedding bands!) and the wine one (cause goodness knows I need help with picking wine!)

I’m surprised not many people seem to be around….last minute grocery shopping??

232 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:24 pm

246 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 12:31 pm

We got a gift set of books for an awesome price at Sam’s Friday- selling for triple on the site and more than that on ebay.

247 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:31 pm

That just sucks! One he specifically requested was down to 5.00 so I try to add it to my cart and get this… “We’re sorry, this item is temporarily out of stock. Please check again soon.”

248 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:31 pm

We purchase olives by the case at Sam’s. My daughter LOVES them!

249 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 12:32 pm

Nancy, I like the artificial for just that reason- also, they are safer.

250 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:32 pm

Is making a list and checking it twice – with 5 teens and 20 somethings in this house – I need all the help I can get. Sams Club looks to be an awesome answer!

251 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:33 pm

I *think* the ads are in tomorrows paper. Right? Each store is different though.

Kimberly – I had Black Friday ads today and I am sure there will be LOTS more in the paper tomorrow. I have also seen a lot of the circulars on line.

The one yesterday was pink Tara. I called hubby and asked how mad he thought the boys would be if I bought it anyway. He said pretty mad. Then when the boys came home from school I told them about it and Wyatt says “I wouldn’t care, as long as it’s a DS” LOL!

257 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:35 pm

Actually, quite a few of the ads are for Thursday sales. Anything to get you in the store!

258 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 12:35 pm

OH, if you go to Sam’s try the Italian Cheesecake (savory) it is a 3 layer asiago roasted red pepper, pesto and Parmesan and it is divine!

259 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:40 pm

YUM! I’m hungry…

260 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 12:35 pm

I went to the store and bought the food for tomorrow. I thought this would be over by the time I got back.

261 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:36 pm

Last year my family bought Deli trays and snacks from Sams for our Christmas party and everyone brought finger foods. This year they haven’t given me a menu so I don’t know what to expect.

262 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:37 pm

Welcome back Michelle – only half way there.

263 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 12:37 pm

I am still debating on the Black Friday sales. I’m not sure if I want to wake up so early and the crowds? The crowds are enough to make me pull the covers over my head and stay in bed!

264 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:37 pm

The way Lucas’ nose is running I’m going to be looking for sales on Kleenex!

265 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 12:37 pm

Thanks for the tips! I guess I’ll see what I can find online and then pick up a paper tomorrow. I’m having a tough time because we don’t have a list of specific things we’re looking for yet, just looking for great deals!

266 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:38 pm

What is the number 1 thing on your wish list this holiday season?

267 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:38 pm

Does the winning comment count off the number next to our photos or the comment count at the top?

268 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:40 pm

Whoever has comment #500 by their name wins. I’ll be sure everything is out of moderation before I announce it.

269 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 12:38 pm

Thanks Nancy! I battled the crowds at the grocery store and I am so glad I am home. Now it is time to clean the house and get ready to host Thanksgiving dinner. I had no idea I was hosting it until yesterday, when my family nominated me.

270 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:38 pm

I think I’m going to check out online Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Hoping to find an XM radio for me and maybe some presents for family!

271 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:39 pm

I went to the grocery store yesterday so I could get everything I need for Thanksgiving dinner. This morning I get up and realize I forgot to get stick butter. I’m not going back to fight the crowds today… hubby can do it lol.

272 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Michelle – we have the Woodbury Commons here in our neighborhood – It’s CRAZY! Folks from all over the world come to shop here Black Friday. Gridlock Alert begins at about 5pm tomorrow. Stores are now opening as early as 9pm on Thanksgiving Day! Geesh!

273 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:39 pm

I’m seriously stalking the Amazon BF week sales:

12:00 PM PST
Upcoming Deal
Gaming on the go
Deal starts in: 00:20:40

It probably won’t even be a DS ROFL!

274 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 12:40 pm

Also, the brie wheel (1 lb) is under $6- a fabulous deal. I came across has a recipe for cranberry puff pastry for Thanksgiving- what a fab idea!

275 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:40 pm

Christy, that’s just mean to send your hubby out into the day-before-thanksgiving crowds. LOL.

276 Andrea H November 25, 2009 at 12:40 pm

I really like the frozen food section at Sam’s. They have such a great variety.

277 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 12:40 pm

So who’s cooking this year?? We usually host the whole family, but my brother wanted a turn this year. Less work for me and they’re excited to have everyone over! I am a little worried my picky eater’s gonna freak out b/c things aren’t made exactly how she’s used to them though–oh well, she’s gonna have to learn to try (and like!) new things eventually!

278 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:43 pm

Kimberly – did you see that you can enter the giveaway if you comment on 2 videos…since you don’t have twitter? I didn’t hear from you after that so I don’t know if you missed it.

279 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:41 pm

If you wait until first thing in the morning the store will be less crowded. Most grocery stores here are open the first half of the day.

280 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 12:41 pm

whoo hoo slowly getting comments huh..took a break to wash my hair.

281 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:43 pm

welcome back

282 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:41 pm

Things have been a bit rough around our household with my having surgery, then getting hurt. Then Monday I lose my job – YUP!
But what happens today? Thanksgiving Angels is what! A whole meal for my family was delivered today. Talk about blessings and the goodness that happens this time of the year. I am so thankful and grateful!

283 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:42 pm

WOW! I’m sorry about the rough patch, but YAY for Angels!

284 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:41 pm

My husband went to the store for me today. Bless his heart! Aside from Black Friday…I try to stay out of the stores!

285 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:42 pm

No cooking here! Just show up with the desserts…I can handle that.

286 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:42 pm

I’m listening to Christmas music…at work. Could life get better? Well, I could be home. LOL

287 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:43 pm

You are not allowed Christmas music until Friday!!

288 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:44 pm

one of my friends had her tree up weeks ago!

289 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:43 pm

We have thanksgiving lunch and dinner tomorrow, but thankfully, we aren’t making anything besides for my wife’s gingerbread cookies.

290 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 12:43 pm

I much prefer the online deals but sometimes the sites crash. I got some wonderful deals last year though on Black Friday- better than Cyber Monday.

291 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:43 pm

Dreaming of the goodies found in the Jewelry Section at Sam’s Club. Oh My! The stuff that some dreams are made of. (swoon)

292 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 12:43 pm

I don’t have to host this year either! I just have to show up with a green bean casserole!

293 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 12:44 pm

We go to family but have to cook a meal here too for the leftovers. ;)

294 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 12:44 pm

Rhea–yup, I saw, posted about my comments in post #198. thanks!!!

295 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:44 pm

oh good! I must have been checking on laundry and missed it :)

296 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:44 pm

Hi my Sunshine Sky! Christmas Music just makes your heart sing doesn’t it?

They already started with the Christmas cartoons/shows on TV this past weekend – hubby was watching them! LOL

297 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:44 pm

Nancy, I’ve been listening to Christmas music for two weeks already…until my XM radio broke this morning. Is that a sign?

298 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:45 pm

LOL! YAY for Christmas music. I haven’t started listening yet but we’ve been watching movies. Polar Express on the list for today. :)

299 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:45 pm

I usually put my tree up Thanksgiving night. Started when the kids were little – they would wake up the next day and it looked like Santa blew up in our home. Plus it was always so much fun to come home from BF shopping and walk into such a festive atmosphere at home.

300 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:45 pm

Mama Hen!! I’m glad to see you here!

Since I don’t get off work until 9 tonight, I’ll be up late making my pumpkin cake. I keep telling myself that it’s going to work out. Right? Think positive!

301 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 12:46 pm

It has been hard for me to get in Christmas mode this year. Usually i’m done with my shopping by now! Maybe Christmas music will help!

302 Andrea H November 25, 2009 at 12:46 pm

We are staying home for Thanksgiving this year. I am lucky that my hubby likes to cook so he will be doing a lot of the cooking. Yay for me!

303 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:48 pm

me and my mom cook together. dinner will be here at our house (we are in a duplex type thing)

304 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:46 pm

Matt – that is why it broke!! You need to celebrate the holidays in order. LOL

305 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:46 pm

LOVE the Polar Express. The book is one of my very favorites. The movie is great too. I so dig the soundtrack. In fact, I’ll switch to it now! Hot Chocolate!

306 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:47 pm

LOL! The boys love to sing that.

307 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:47 pm

Mommy23Monkeys
We all go through seasons of change or tough stuff – this too shall pass! :)
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to one and all :)

308 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:47 pm

One of my cousins is cooking his first Thanksgiving Dinner. He works with hubby and this morning his mom stopped by to make sure he got the turkey out of the freezer. He said “I’ll get it out when I get home from work” lol. She told him he needed it out now, it wouldn’t thaw overnight. He said “It’ll be fine”. His mom told him she’d call his wife and have her get it out, then she left. Hubby said he told him that it she was right and he said “It’ll be okay, I”m pretty sure it has microwave directions on it”. I about died laughing when he told me!!!

309 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 12:49 pm

LMAO! That’s awesome.

310 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:47 pm

Sky don’t hit me or anything – I didn’t know the Polar Express was even a book! YIKES Must get my hands on one. LOL

311 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 12:47 pm

Ooh! Pumpkin cake? Sounds yummy! We found a pumpkin scone recipe last year that everyone LOVES (even my mother in law who thinks I can’t cook worth a crud), and then branched out into pumpkin cookies, and of course the typical pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie. Gotta try pumpkin cake!

312 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 12:47 pm

It may be time to watch National lampoon’s Christmas vacation! My all time fave Christmas movie.

313 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 12:48 pm

Dawn’s fave is green bean casserole! We’ve never made one though, since others do.

314 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:48 pm

Christy – OMG that is too funny! Microwave instructions for the turkey? Frozen solid turkey at that!! (giggles)

315 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 12:48 pm

The pumpkin roll is my fave dessert, but anything pumpkin is delicious!

316 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Did you see that ride on/in Thomas the Train on the Sam’s Club site? How cute is that?

317 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Kimberly – I adore pumpkin anything!! YUMMM Pumpkin Scones – really? I’d love the recipe!

318 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Last week I put the fire house’s tree up in my livingroom to make sure all the pieces were there and the lights would work. Someone came in and said she thought it was so great that I had my tree up already and the kids must love it. I felt bad to tell her our tree goes up the week before Christmas and comes down the day after, but the kids want a real tree and I’m allergic so that’s how it has to be!

319 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Time for the Macy’s Day Parade. After you see santa, then you can start with the Christmas shows.

320 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:50 pm

I’ve been wanting to watch It’s a Wonderful Life so bad. I’m sure it’ll be on TV soon now that we’re at Thanksgiving and a month away from Christmas!

321 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 12:50 pm

I wanna hear the follow up story about the frozen solid, microwaved turkey! LOL

322 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:50 pm

I could totally see him doing it too LiveLaughLoveCj!!! I told hubby to tell them if he ruined their turkey they could come eat with us lol.

323 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:50 pm

Oh Christine! You have too, it’s lovely! Written by Chris Van Allsburg. It won the 1986 Caldecott Medal.

324 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Sunshine Sky – Pumpkin Cake – can you email me the recipe? Oh it sounds divine!
I hope I can get up on and on this leg soon!! I’m usually already in baking mode by now. I love baking for gifts for friends and family. It usually looks like sugar and flour exploded in my kitchen by this time of the year!! (lol)

325 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Last year my niece’s then fiance went and stood in line forever and she brought him breakfast- he traded an egg sandwich for a voucher for a really cheap laptop- what a deal!

326 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Wow, I like real trees, but can’t stand the mess they make, so we will stick with the fake one.

327 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Now, if we can have a White Christmas…I’ll be set. I love snow!

328 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:52 pm

Christy – by the way Call me Christine or Cj – so very nice to “meet” you. :)

I am still giggling at the shock and surprise in store for him tomorrow with that turkey!! (laughing)

329 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 12:52 pm

I want to get our tree up soon. We didn’t put one up last year b/c we had a crawling baby.

330 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:52 pm

Sunshine Sky – I will find a way to get my hands on that book. I really had no idea …. silly me.

331 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:53 pm

Christine, the pumpkin cake is on my blog. In the Walmart GC giveaway post. It’s a moist cake….so yummy!

I’ve been craving pumpkin since July. It’s so yummy!

332 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:53 pm

I know I’m forgetting something for dinner tomorrow… turkey, dressing, rolls, mashed potatoes, cheesy potatoes, corn, green beans, pinwheels, cranberry sauce, cheesecake, chocolate pie… what am I leaving out???

333 Tara November 25, 2009 at 12:53 pm

just started my first batch of fudge….thinking about adding mint extract instead of vanilla, wondering if it will turn out OK???

334 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:53 pm

Sky – I know you love the snow. It’s been seasonable here, expected snow already with the way mother nature has been this past year. But none yet. I think we had some flurries a couple of weeks back – but that’s about it.
A white Christmas would be nice. I’d like that a lot!

335 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 12:53 pm

We might get a white Thanksgiving! or so they say…

336 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 12:53 pm

the pumpkin scone recipe was a random find…if you google pumpkin scone recipe it should come up. the site was pinch my salt or something like that. The only change I made was that it uses heavy cream and I substitute and equal amount of undiluted evaporated milk (cause I always have it on hand and it’s cheaper anyway). Yummy yummy stuff. I always double the recipe (makes 16 scones) and then use the rest of the can of pumpkin for one loaf of pumpkin bread. 16 scones lasts my family of 2 adults and 2 small children less than 2 days!!

337 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:54 pm

I’ll be ok with a white Christmas, but then I’m ready for spring! I hate this cold weather!

338 Tara November 25, 2009 at 12:54 pm

five minutes until the next amazon deals!!!! Get ready!

339 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:54 pm

Christy – Yams maybe? Sweet Potatoes?

340 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 12:55 pm

Ooh…mint fudge. Should be fine, I think? Wonder how much it’d take to get the right flavor though? Hubby loves anything chocolate mint. At Christmas I make him these chocolate cookies, then you put an andes mint on top of each one while they’re still hot and the mint melts so you can spread it around like icing on the cookie—yummy, yummy!!

341 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:55 pm

Under 5 minutes to see what this Amazon BF Week deal is :D

342 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:55 pm

I’m shopping around on the Sam’s site. I found this bed, Princess Emily Carriage Canopy Twin Size Bed. OMG, I love it!

343 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:55 pm

Kimberly – thank you so much for sharing! I will google it and see what I can find. I adore scones. Makes me think of my grandmother – very English (with tea of course);)

344 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Mmmm. Chocolate Mint fudge sounds divine! Could you ship me some for Christmas?

345 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:56 pm

LOL Glad to see I’m not the only one stalking, Tara!

346 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Matt – the winter season has only just begun. We’ve got a bit of a ways to go before Spring can “sprung”.

347 Tara November 25, 2009 at 12:56 pm

well I usually use a teaspoon of vanilla, so thinking if I use the same but mint?? I love mint chocolate and hoping it turns out good – but if it does I’ll have to make extra!! LOL

348 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:57 pm

Do you take your kiddies to see Santa Rhea? Or do they like to?

349 Tara November 25, 2009 at 12:58 pm

I don’t mind – the more the Merrier! Love you guys!! ;) lol

350 jakell m November 25, 2009 at 12:58 pm

darn i have to go. leaving town, good luck everyone!!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

351 Matt November 25, 2009 at 12:58 pm

LOL. Winter is my least favorite season and I could do without it every year!

352 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:58 pm

Sky – I will check out your blog after all of this and jot it down. Thank you so much!

They gave me another week off my leg/foot completely. Was on it (like I shouldn’t have been yesterday) and it blew up again. Might have to stay off of it a bit longer. But I swear, I’m gonna get into my kitchen and do some kind of baking even if just a little bit this year! :)

353 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 12:58 pm

More traffic now, getting a little harder to follow the conversations!

354 Christy November 25, 2009 at 12:59 pm

Anyone have ideas for Christmas ornaments for the kids to make this year?

355 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 12:59 pm

Jackell – Safe Travels – Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

356 Sky November 25, 2009 at 12:59 pm

We took Paige last year…and it was complete “A” for effort. She just preferred to wave from afar. LOL We’ll try again this year. I think it would be okay if my 9 year old would go too…but he’s afraid that someone will see him. *insert eyeroll here*

357 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 1:00 pm

I could do without winter too!!! I was born and raised in Texas and my hubby just accepted a job in Montana!!! :-o We’re not going up until next summer, but I’m gonna FREEZE up there!

358 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:00 pm

Tara that sounds about right with the flavoring – you could add a little less – try it – and add more if you need more “minty goodness”. The boys make Fudge for their father each year.

359 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:01 pm

I bought a wreath for the front of our house. I can’t wait to get all of the beautiful lights and decorations out!

360 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 1:01 pm

Finally got my munchkin down for a nap. now I can finish my online christmas shopping for him without him seeing all his gifts.

361 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:02 pm

Kimberly, I am coming to visit since I really want to see Montana and Glacier. You are lucky!

362 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:02 pm

Sky – ah yes the *eye roll* (laughing) I remember those years well. Now, my 17 year old, dresses up as Santa for the village Santa drive through town for all the little kids here, AND he goes to school the last day before winter break dressed as Santa (for that I think it’s strictly for the girls – who ooooh and ahhhh and want to sit on his lap to get a candy cane!) (laughing)

363 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:02 pm

I love Straight No Chaser’s 12 Days of Christmas. It’s so funny! You Tube it.

364 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:03 pm

Who knew (well I think my son figured it out) that teenage girls love a teenage boy dressed as Santa and he comes with candy! (laughing) Big hit with the administrators, teachers at the high school too. Too Funny!

365 Christy November 25, 2009 at 1:03 pm

YES! YES! YES! It was a DS and my order has been placed!!!

366 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:03 pm

That’s too funny Christine! Santa (my brother) used to come to our house and see Johnny. Then Johnny noticed that Santa wore the same kind of shoes as Uncle Spencer. LOL

367 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 1:04 pm

I’m so sad that this year I can’t put up our outside decorations. Hubby told me yseterday that he wont do it. :(

368 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:04 pm

Sam’s Club has an Upside Down Christmas Tree? (sold out) I’ve never heard of such a thing!! Really?

369 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 1:05 pm

congrats on the DS Christy!

370 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:05 pm

Christy! Congratulations on the snagging the DS! WOOT WOOT Merry Christmas! :)

371 Matt November 25, 2009 at 1:05 pm

I’ve been wanting to do outside decorations, but our budget doesn’t allow for any purchases right now and we don’t have any outdoor stuff yet.

372 Christy November 25, 2009 at 1:05 pm

373 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:06 pm

Oh no Melissa! You can’t entice him to do the Grizwold thing?

374 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:06 pm

Melissa – I am so sorry. But that doesn’t mean you can’t go to town on the inside does it? Decorate to your hearts content!

375 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:07 pm

I live in a 100 year old house, that has 3 apartments inside. We can’t decorate too much outside :( but man, it looks like a Snowman’s wonderland inside when I get through with things! I love to decorate for the holidays.

376 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:07 pm

cooking the fudge so very little down time…. congrats on the ds buy!

377 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:08 pm

Sky! (giggle) I just got the “Griswald thing” (laughing) too funny.

378 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:08 pm

I must have this – Lexmark X6675 Wireless All-in-One Printer. It prints, copies, scans and faxes wirelessly.
It’s better than sliced bread and Sam’s price is right.

379 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 1:09 pm

We’ve never done outside lights, but I think this year i might. Our daughter is at the age where she really thinks that it’s cool!

380 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:09 pm

Did you see the Hydrangea w/White Roses Wreath – 24″ from the Sam’s Club website. Beautiful! I wish I had a fireplace or a wall big enough to put something that wonderful up!

381 Matt November 25, 2009 at 1:10 pm

My son has already started pointing out Christmas lights every time he sees them as we’re driving down the road!

382 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:10 pm

Christy! Congratulations on the snagging the DS!

383 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:10 pm

Each year I beg (the only time I’ll beg my husband in fact!) for more lights. I want our house to look just like the one in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, and I’m always stonewalled with a NO.

Do I live with the Grinch? :)

384 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 1:10 pm

Ooh….I got a wireless printer/scanner/copier/fax for my work stuff a while back–it’s SO nice!

385 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 1:10 pm

I just have to take things easy when I’m decorating. I’m on a type of modified bedrest until my girls are born.

386 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:10 pm

Renski. Oh, how I would love an all in one printer. That’s a dream wish list for another time. But they do make me drool! (laughing)

387 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 1:11 pm

My daughter asks to look at the JCP toy catalog everyday. She has circled pretty much the entire catalog. She muct thinks santa is filthy rich!

388 Christy November 25, 2009 at 1:11 pm

Thank you :D Now I for sure don’t have to go out on Black Friday!

389 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:11 pm

Melissa. Hmmmm you can delegate the decorating then this year. You can talk to your belly and tell the girls about all the goings on. :)

390 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 1:12 pm

I have an all in one printer but it’s not wireless. I really want a wireless one.

391 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:13 pm

Traci! (giggles) I remember when the kids were so much younger, they’d do that with the Toy’s R Us big book of toys. (insert eye roll here) and I’d just smile. Half the time they didn’t even know what half the stuff was – but it sure did look cool! (laughing)

392 Christy November 25, 2009 at 1:13 pm

Traci, Santa and the elves make the toys, so they don’t have to spend a dime ;)

393 Matt November 25, 2009 at 1:14 pm

My wife is concerned that if I do lights it’ll be like National Lampoons or Tim Taylor.

394 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:14 pm

Sams has the “Earth collection” pieces are made from sources committed to protecting the environment. I think that’s awesome and the jewelry pieces look great!

395 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 1:14 pm

That’s the plan. I’m doing the same thing tomorrow, sitting and talking to the girls while my hubby cooks thanksgiving dinner.

396 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:14 pm

Kimberly – a wireless all in one printer would be divine! I’m on a laptop, the kids use the tower in the kitchen. Our printer recently broke (thank goodness for Memory Sticks/flash drives!)save it transfer it over and they can print at school their projects and such.

397 beverly November 25, 2009 at 1:15 pm

I watched the baking tips videos about how to help this season

Matt! OH NO! Can’t have that, although could be very entertaining (giggles)

399 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 1:15 pm

This is the first year she has really understood Christmas…now she thinks santa needs to bring her EVERYTHING she thinks she wants. It’s a very fun age!

400 Matt November 25, 2009 at 1:15 pm

The wireless all-in-one printers are great. My wife will tell you everything she loves about it if you ask!

401 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:16 pm

OK, all this talk of decorating and now I am ready to go. Let’s see if I still feel that way on Friday.

402 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:16 pm

not sure about the mint……have to let it sit and then I’ll let you know ;)

403 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 1:16 pm

My oldest got ahold of the “Back to Basics Toys” catalog (which, in her defense, does have really cool stuff) and circled lots of stuff. I told her not to circle anything with more than 3 digits for the price LOL She’s planning to hand it to pa-paw at Thanksgiving tomorrow!

404 Matt November 25, 2009 at 1:16 pm

Couldn’t you just see me with a giant lighted snow man on my roof…blinding the planes that fly over?

405 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:16 pm

Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving?

406 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:17 pm

Melissa. That is great! Tell the girls all about what their daddy is up to! The stories you have to tell them along the way. They are going to arrive healthy and wonderful and full of curiosity to see all that you have told them about.

407 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 1:17 pm

We have the all in one wireless. it is really nice! We only have it b/c my husband works from home and the company paid for it. :)

408 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:17 pm

Matt – sounds like your wife might have a reason for wondering what the house will look like if you decorate…just kidding:)

409 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:17 pm

Congrats on the DS

410 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:18 pm

Traci – What an amazing age. So much fun. The wonder and amazement in their eyes this time of the year. It’s MAGIC!

411 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 1:18 pm

I think Saturday will be our decorating day.

412 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:18 pm

maybe I should have added the vanilla with the mint?? or use the peppermint instead? hmmmm….LOL

413 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm

LOL Kimberly Ian says I want that for every commercial. I say we’ll put it on the list for Santa. Finally he just says I want everything!

414 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm

National Lampoon movies are a hoot! That reminds me…. where are my lights.

415 Christy November 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm

I bought a coconut cake for desert tomorrow… there is only 1 piece left lol.

416 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm

I’m really looking forward to taking her to see all the lights. She will be amazed!

417 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm

This is our decorating weekend too – I can’t wait I bought like crazy at walmart last year at their after Christmas Sale!!

418 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm

Kimberly – that is too cute and too funny! Smart girl. ;) I love the wonder the children have this time of year. Everything is so full of life and laughter for them. The hope and the dreams and the giggles of it all. Love it Love it!

419 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm

Was the cake good? I never buy anything ahead of time for that exact reason!

420 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm

LOL sounds like us!!! Hopefully this fudge will last until tomorrow LOL

421 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:20 pm

Christy
Well, hmmm in some places it’s cool to have dessert first. Your just making room for the actual Thanksgiving Meal. (giggles)

422 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:20 pm

I’m checking out the Netbooks. I can’t help myself. Sam’s…you have quite the deals!

423 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:20 pm

Matt- you can move next to Tim the Tool Man he used to always hurt himself doing Christmas decorations trying to outdo the neighbors

424 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:21 pm

I would love to get a netbook. I have been checking them out for awhile now.

425 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:21 pm

hehe Christy- if the mini diva had one of those there wouldn’t even be that left

426 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:21 pm

I LOVE the Amethyst Purple Acer Netbook. More so for the color! Isn’t it gorgeous?

427 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:22 pm

Tara – I am hopeful that my teenagers and 20 somethings will cooperate and help out Big Daddy in pulling the stuff out of the garage and get to decorating the house this weekend. I, have to delegate this year, stuck in this chair with my leg high in the air… I hope I hope I hope. If I am gonna be stuck a while longer off my feet, I’d like to be surrounded with Christmas Cheer! :)

428 beverly November 25, 2009 at 1:22 pm

gettinbg ready for thanksgiving

429 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:22 pm

Is anyone travelling for the holiday? I read that the TSA (at the airport)will make you toss your cranberry sauce becasue it’s considered a liquid.

430 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:23 pm

I am not sure I want my netbook in purple, but if it was free I would take any color.

431 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:23 pm

so the fudge did not set like it should! Guess I was in a hurry to get back here ;) LOL oh well, I guess we will just have to eat that. Gonna make it without the mint this time!

432 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:23 pm

I was just checking out the black Friday target add.

433 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:23 pm

Sam’s Club has PINK Netbooks – I’m all about the PINK and the price! (swoon)

434 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:23 pm

I can’t wait til after dinner tomorrow when we get home we get to put on Miracle on 34th st and start decorating!

435 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 1:23 pm

Ooh Sky—DH is looking at netbooks too. Right now he has a laptop through work, but he’ll lose that when he leaves for the new job and he wants something small and portable. With the budget we have right now he’s gonna have to find quite the deal though!!

436 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

The Special of the Day…that HP computer, is a fantastic deal. It’s not available anymore, but that’s the computer I have…and I certainly didn’t pay that price. Yikes! I’m in sticker shock! If only I would have waited!

437 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

I have the acer netbook in red and I love it!

438 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

I hope you get up and better soon!!! Must be hard being down for the holidays!

439 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Tara – ummmm fold it into some brownie mix maybe? Use as a topping for Ice Cream? Tis the season and well I was always told calories don’t count starting tomorrow! ;)

440 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

As look as the fudge is edible, don’t worry about it setting. I’ll take it if no one will eat it!

441 Matt November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Has anyone seen a black friday add for WalMart? Any good deals this year?

442 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

What is the earliest you guys have lined up for Black Friday??

443 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

@Tara – fudge that doesn’t set makes great ice cream topping – esp over brownies ;)

444 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

LOVE Miracle on 34th Street!!!! It’s my favorite Christmas movie by far, I can’t stand It’s A Wonderful Life!

445 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:25 pm

has anybody looked to see who has the best deal on notebooks this weekend?

446 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:25 pm

THere are lots of good deals this year at Walmart. I am stopping in for htings like $3 pjs and such

447 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:25 pm

Sky I know what you mean on that computer. I saw that and just about died. I know what we paid for ours, or one like it about 2 years ago (it has since died – ugh). Had a friend make a computer for the kids to use in the meantime. What a deal Sam’s Club has going on with the electronics – especially the computers.

448 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:25 pm

“I can’t stand It’s A Wonderful Life!” Hey, that is one of my favorites!!

449 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:25 pm

I am trying to really stay on budget this year!

450 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:25 pm

I’d take a netbook in any color too

451 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:25 pm

Ya gotta wonder who’d pack cranberry sauce, eh?

452 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:26 pm

ohhh….I love love love that idea!!! I never even thought of that!! I am gonna have to go buy some vanilla ice cream now….

453 Sky November 25, 2009 at 1:26 pm

I typically don’t line up. I wait in my car. Warm and toasty. When the doors open…that’s when I make my mad dash!

454 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:26 pm

Hey Tara – I would love to know that too. As long as it doesn’t require me getting up at 3:00am!

455 Kimberly November 25, 2009 at 1:26 pm

Sorry Nancy :-P ;-) Really really can’t stand it LOL

456 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:26 pm

I like It’s a Wonderful Life fine, but can’t stand A Christmas Story- not sure why never did like it though.

457 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Really?? I love A Christmas Story. Always makes me laugh.

458 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:26 pm

Dddiva – that sounds like a wonderful plan you’ve got for tomorrow. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

459 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:26 pm

My parents are buying my daughter a DS..thanks, I am going to have my mom check that out. Yes, she is spoiled. My brother is pitching into help out.

460 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Waiting in the car sounds like a fab plan!

461 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

Almost there, then off to make some fore fudge!!

462 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

Thanks LiveLaughLoveCJ It’s our tradition and we love it.

463 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

I, too love It’s A Wonderful Life. This year, the DVD I’ve got to get is the Star Trek DVD for my Hubby.

464 beverly November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

Thanksgiving is just plain yummy!

465 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

I am still debating it. Every year, I miss black Friday because we are usually camping. This is the first year in a long time, we will be home.

466 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

Where do you camp??

467 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

How long have you all been Sam Club Members?? Ever try Costco and switch?

468 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

I was a Costco diehard but switched. I love Sam’s

469 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

I wonder if I could convince my hubby to go shopping on friday before he has to go to work.

470 Matt November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

So, what’s my son want for Christmas presents? Everything in the Toys-R-Us ad. LOL.

471 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

Camping sounds like fun!

472 traci fritz November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

With 2 little ones, my sleep is far more valuable to me than saving a little money! It would have to be one heck of a deal to get me out of bed that early! ;)

473 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:28 pm

Everyone needs to share the deals they get

474 Nancy November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

Anyone from the NY area and going to the Macy’s Day parade tomorrow?

475 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

we want to start a tradition and get a cabin – have that be “our” place every year where family can gather

476 Renski November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

I’ve been listening to Christmas music for two weeks already. It’s make me happy, though it’s a bit too early for me.

477 Michelle M November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

Tara- so much fun. We usually have a huge potluck.

478 beverly November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

The turkey is the best when dressed.

479 Dddiva November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

Ugh watching the KMart commercial and there aren’t any in the state- glad I don’t need anything there.

480 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

My daughter (1 of them) would love these
14K White Gold Diamond Cut Hoop Earrings at Sam’s Club…

481 Tara November 25, 2009 at 1:30 pm

Anyone having Tamales for Thanksgiving tomorrow??

482 mommy23monkeys November 25, 2009 at 1:30 pm

we have Tamales on Christmas Eve. our neighbor brings them over

483 Melissa Spencer November 25, 2009 at 1:30 pm

484 LiveLaughLoveCj November 25, 2009 at 1:30 pm
