I’m so excited to go shopping on Friday!! I will definitely be at Sam’s Club in Vista, CA if anyone wants to meet up for breakfast. I’ll buy (haha). I’m not really on the hunt for anything specific since I’ve gotten all the “big” stuff. I am hoping that I find a deal on a Nintendo DSi or at least a deal on some games.

I was going to go shopping on black friday this year but since I’m 31 weeks pregnant with twins and have to limit my time on my feet plans had to change.
The one item I really want to buy, but cannot afford at the moment is at Sams, this would really help out!

The only place I will go on Black Friday is Home Depot. They buy their poinsettia’s from a local nursery and sell them for $1 that day.

Yeah, my MIL would do Thanksgiving every year, the only holiday all year we see them even though they live 2 miles from us…then when my DD was 3 mos old, she said 3 days before Thanksgiving she wasn’t doing it. So I had to figure it out, shop like crazy, and make my very first turkey and all the trimmings. I was so upset with her but now I’m happy we don’t have to go there for Thanksgiving. Last year she invited us because her other son was coming from out of town… and served us all raw turkey. lovely.

LOL! That’s what I thought about my MIL when she sprung it on me that she wouldn’t be doing Thanksgiving the year I just had my daughter, had a very difficult C section and I was still recovering. I went out and bought an exersaucer for my 3 month old and did it all myself. I think your situation is much more difficult, though. But definitely something my MIL would do, too. My MIL is such a trouble maker, and very passive agressive…LOL!

SAMS CLUB FACTS:The company decided to refocus on its core of small business customers, targeting specific industries such as nursing homes, restaurants, hotel/motel operators, cleaning companies, and restaurants. It stocked items such as institutional quality sheets, heavy restaurant-grade cutlery, wheel chairs, and wrist splints.
We went for the taste of sams over the weekend but our local sams didn’t have any good samples. no sweets at all.
In targeting particular businesses, Sam’s also moved to carry less of other items, such as housewares, that appealed more to consumers buying for themselves or their families

Things have been a bit rough around our household with my having surgery, then getting hurt. Then Monday I lose my job – YUP!
But what happens today? Thanksgiving Angels is what! A whole meal for my family was delivered today. Talk about blessings and the goodness that happens this time of the year. I am so thankful and grateful!

One of my cousins is cooking his first Thanksgiving Dinner. He works with hubby and this morning his mom stopped by to make sure he got the turkey out of the freezer. He said “I’ll get it out when I get home from work” lol. She told him he needed it out now, it wouldn’t thaw overnight. He said “It’ll be fine”. His mom told him she’d call his wife and have her get it out, then she left. Hubby said he told him that it she was right and he said “It’ll be okay, I”m pretty sure it has microwave directions on it”. I about died laughing when he told me!!!

Ooh! Pumpkin cake? Sounds yummy! We found a pumpkin scone recipe last year that everyone LOVES (even my mother in law who thinks I can’t cook worth a crud), and then branched out into pumpkin cookies, and of course the typical pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie. Gotta try pumpkin cake!
It may be time to watch National lampoon’s Christmas vacation! My all time fave Christmas movie.

Last week I put the fire house’s tree up in my livingroom to make sure all the pieces were there and the lights would work. Someone came in and said she thought it was so great that I had my tree up already and the kids must love it. I felt bad to tell her our tree goes up the week before Christmas and comes down the day after, but the kids want a real tree and I’m allergic so that’s how it has to be!

the pumpkin scone recipe was a random find…if you google pumpkin scone recipe it should come up. the site was pinch my salt or something like that. The only change I made was that it uses heavy cream and I substitute and equal amount of undiluted evaporated milk (cause I always have it on hand and it’s cheaper anyway). Yummy yummy stuff. I always double the recipe (makes 16 scones) and then use the rest of the can of pumpkin for one loaf of pumpkin bread. 16 scones lasts my family of 2 adults and 2 small children less than 2 days!!
I’ll be ok with a white Christmas, but then I’m ready for spring! I hate this cold weather!

At Christmas I make him these chocolate cookies, then you put an andes mint on top of each one while they’re still hot and the mint melts so you can spread it around like icing on the cookie—yummy, yummy!!

Traci! (giggles) I remember when the kids were so much younger, they’d do that with the Toy’s R Us big book of toys. (insert eye roll here) and I’d just smile. Half the time they didn’t even know what half the stuff was – but it sure did look cool! (laughing)

That’s the plan. I’m doing the same thing tomorrow, sitting and talking to the girls while my hubby cooks thanksgiving dinner.
Kimberly – a wireless all in one printer would be divine! I’m on a laptop, the kids use the tower in the kitchen. Our printer recently broke (thank goodness for Memory Sticks/flash drives!)save it transfer it over and they can print at school their projects and such.

This is the first year she has really understood Christmas…now she thinks santa needs to bring her EVERYTHING she thinks she wants. It’s a very fun age!
The wireless all-in-one printers are great. My wife will tell you everything she loves about it if you ask!

My oldest got ahold of the “Back to Basics Toys” catalog (which, in her defense, does have really cool stuff) and circled lots of stuff. I told her not to circle anything with more than 3 digits for the price LOL She’s planning to hand it to pa-paw at Thanksgiving tomorrow!

Melissa. That is great! Tell the girls all about what their daddy is up to! The stories you have to tell them along the way. They are going to arrive healthy and wonderful and full of curiosity to see all that you have told them about.
We have the all in one wireless. it is really nice! We only have it b/c my husband works from home and the company paid for it.

Is anyone travelling for the holiday? I read that the TSA (at the airport)will make you toss your cranberry sauce becasue it’s considered a liquid.
I am not sure I want my netbook in purple, but if it was free I would take any color.

Ooh Sky—DH is looking at netbooks too. Right now he has a laptop through work, but he’ll lose that when he leaves for the new job and he wants something small and portable. With the budget we have right now he’s gonna have to find quite the deal though!!
The Special of the Day…that HP computer, is a fantastic deal. It’s not available anymore, but that’s the computer I have…and I certainly didn’t pay that price. Yikes! I’m in sticker shock! If only I would have waited!

Sky I know what you mean on that computer. I saw that and just about died. I know what we paid for ours, or one like it about 2 years ago (it has since died – ugh). Had a friend make a computer for the kids to use in the meantime. What a deal Sam’s Club has going on with the electronics – especially the computers.
