Are you watching the Olympics?
Of course you are. Right?
I’m trying to watch them but it’s hard for me to stay up so late. I’ve been wondering why NBC can’t show some of the good events earlier in the day instead of holding them till after 10pm. It’s really annoying. Plus, I was so excited to be able to share this Olympics with Anthony and I can’t since coverage comes on so late.
Yesterday we were able to catch some of the Freestyle Skiing that was on early in the day and that was fun for him. But our only choices were Curling or Freestyle. You can image that Curling wasn’t that exciting for us (sorry if you are a Curling enthusiast).

I was also really looking forward to watching Shaun White’s snowboarding competition with Anthony. I thought he would dig that considering that he “snowboards” down my living room steps on a wheel-less skateboard. But I didn’t even stay awake until the after 10pm airing of that event.
My mom asked me why I didn’t just record them. Good idea except when I wake up in the morning I like to watch the Today Show and all they talk about is the results from the night before. I don’t know about you, but it’s not the same to watch an event when you already know who wins.

One event I actually did get to watch was the Women’s Downhill Skiing where Lindsey Vonn won the gold medal. That was very awesome! I was crying right along side of her. I never knew a skiing competition could be so freaking emotional!
So all in all I’ve been having fun watching the Olympics. As I mentioned, I was super excited for Anthony to see them. I was hoping it would spark some fire in him to try something new. He’s only 5 and so impressionable. I have so many dreams for him and if the Olympics were to be included in those dreams, then I would be a happy momma.
Anyhow, have you been watching? What do you think?

We don’t have cable and only get CBS, FOX and PBS! My 5 year old was coming home BEGGING to watch and I kept telling her we couldn’t (what’s up with no streaming on the NBC website?!?). Turns out her teacher was telling her she MUST have that channel, I had to go explain that we really don’t :-p
We’ve been watching every night, and yes–it does get late. My favorites are the figure skating (of course) and I love watching Apolo Ono in the short-track speed skating. What a wild sport that is! Did anyone see him on Dancing With the Stars? My complaint is the commercials. They seriously have a commercial break after each and every skate during the figure skating.
So far I’d say this Olympics hasn’t had the drama and compelling personal stories of other years–still good though, and I’ll keep watching!
Nope, I have not watched them at all. I did see something on the news about the sledding incident, poor guy.
